A great resource to help you solidify your plan of action for your online business
There is a lot of information packed in these 9 chapters.I bought this book because if you are in business, you are already online in that business, and I have many clients who are online businesses exclusively.Other entrepreneurs are thinking about an online business in this ever expanding marketplace that has fewer overhead and staffing needs than a brick and mortar establishment.Even if you have a brick and mortar based business, you want to expand it on line! With the online community, you have a new opportunity for increased sales if you do it correctly, yet without a clear vision, the journey will be harder than it needs to be.To get the most out of the book, I believe it would be a good idea to make questions out of the prompts and points as you go along, in some format you can use at the end to clarify your vision. This would help you see where you have a strong vision, viability testing, and where you need to fine tune your idea before you waste money on a doomed to fail endeavor.I appreciated that the author spent time on the importance of research and ongoing testing of your overall business plan for profitability. There is no business without profits!

The book gives some ideas for business possibilities and provides some strategies. However it does not really go into detail, I am not sure that it actually helps to build a successful business. It rather gives some ideas what to look out for and what kind of online businesses exist. But why for example is not even mentioned the business the author does, which would be self publishing on amazon, one of the easiest businesses to start with?In summary it is an “ok” book.

It is my habit to be generous, or at the very least forgiving, when reviewing a book or record, but Iâm afraid that I can find little merit in the deceptively titled âHow to Make Money in Business Online.â Within the first few chapters, I was left scratching my head and wondering whether the author, R.R. Brown, had ever run an online business, let alone a successful one. And before I hear howls of angsty protest ringing in my ears, might I humbly point out that I have. From starting in my living room over twenty years ago, I built an international business with an eight-figure turnover, which I sold a few years ago for enough to live out my days in comfort. How, you might ask, did I manage without such pearls of S.R. Brown wisdom as, âdo your research,â âfind a supplier,â âmarket your product,â âfind products in high demandâ â find products that will earn you money,â and hot tips, such as, âthe higher the margin, the more money the entrepreneur makes with each sale,â âsearch Google for broad categories such as âclothing,â âelectronicsâ or âhome goodsââ, and crucially, âone of the main reasons for failure is a lack of profitability.â If any of the above comes as a revelation, might I humbly suggest that you invest in someone elseâs business rather than your own? With one proviso â please donât invest in Mr. Brownâs online publishing venture.
