Must read for ALL educators
This book should be a requirement in all education programs. With the variety of cultures and identities that make up Americans today, learning how to respect and value all of them is key to teaching. It’s written in a way basically anyone can comprehend. Highly recommend!

Great book!
I accidentally ordered for a book study (we are actually using his newer release) however, I heard it was great so I decided to keep and read for an independent book study.

Excellent Educator Resource
Strongly encourage educators looking for new ideas and pedagogy to read this book. I had the distinct honor of being Dr. Stembridge’s student through a teaching residency as we went through chapters of this book. It has reignited my love for planning.

Buy and implement ASAP!
Stembridge’s book is well written and knowledgeable. There is a lot of information to process so I recommend reading and working alongside another educator who is excited about equitable work. I can not recommend this book enough!

Transformative and inspiring words
Dr. Yemi S. is not an author looking to sell teachers a new flavor of PD. He has done the work, learned the language, and completed the research to create what I believe is the framework of a new, equitable model for education. Teaching can be so much more for students and teachers alike if we are willing to challenge the practice of teaching kids our language of education instead of bridging student culture and the culture of rigorous learning. My mind is too tired and inspired to write a review this book deserves!
